DEAF EDUCATION IN A SCHOOL IN PARNAIBA - PIAUÍ: GETTING TO KNOW THE WORK OF A LIBRAS INSTRUCTOR

The present study aims to know the work of a Libras instructor at a school in Parnaíba-PI. It is known that the deaf have instructors to help with communication and school learning. Only in 2005, through Decree nº 5626, of December 22, 2005, the deaf were entitled to instructors and interpreters. To guide the development of this research, we ask: what is the work of a Libras instructor like at a school in the city of Parnaíba-PI? As for the methodology adopted, bibliographical research was used, highlighting a qualitative approach, as well as field research, in which the instructor of the observed classroom was interviewed. To support this research, the following theorists were approached: Honora (2014), Libâneo (1994), Brasil (2005) and others. As a result, it was observed that the instructor goes through some challenges, as the deaf had difficulty in the contents. We conclude that the instructor sought to study to pass on the content to the deaf.
