Contribuições do grupo de estudos GeoLibras para a formação docente inclusiva

Created to promote interdisciplinary dialogue between Geography, Libras (Brazilian Sign Language), and Deaf Culture, this study discusses the experience of the Study Group on Deafness and Geolinguistics (GeoLibras), composed of Geography students from the Federal University of Ceará. The objective of this research is to investigate how the group acts as a complementary training experience, expanding the repertoire of future teachers for Deaf inclusion. The qualitative and participatory research utilizes a case study, semi-structured interviews, and a literature review. During the first semester of 2025, the meetings involved debates, the planning of accessible urban trails, and engagement with the Deaf community. The results reveal that Geolibras addresses curricular gaps and develops a critical pedagogy, positioning Libras as a mediator for geographical understanding and strengthening the bonds between the university and the community.
