A influência da Libras e da Comunidade Surda na escolarização de alunos surdos

This is a qualitative study that sought to outline the research carried out in the last five years on the influence of the Deaf Community and Brazilian Sign Language -Libras in the schooling of deaf students. The descriptors sought were "deaf community", "Libras", "Deaf Education", in the databases Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations and Dissertation Bank of the Professional Master's in Education at UNITAU, Capes Periodicals and Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations, 131 peer-reviewed articles, 02 dissertations and 0 thesis(s) were identified. To select the articles, it was decided to read the titles that were closely related to the searched descriptors and to the developed theme. Abstracts, introductions and conclusions of the selected material were analyzed. The readings indicated a close relationship between the deaf community, which contributes to the cultural, social and identity formation, and Libras, which directly influences the schooling and learning of the deaf student.
