Uma abordagem baseada em tecnologias assistivas e extração automática de conteúdo para auxiliar no ensino de alunos surdos por meio da web: uma aplicação em aulas sobre cartografia
Resumo
The amount of data generated globally is increasing rapidly, with 64.2 zettabytes in 2020 and a forecast to exceed 180 zettabytes by 2025. Daily, 328.77 million terabytes of data are created. Given this volume of data and the educational context, web data extraction, or web scraping, allows for the transformation of unstructured data into structured data, enriching educational content. Assistive Technologies (AT) are essential for the inclusion of people with disabilities, facilitating access to information and promoting the development of new skills. Web accessibility, through the WCAG standard, ensures that online content is accessible to everyone, including individuals with visual, auditory, motor, and cognitive impairments. Additionally, responsive web design adapts sites to different devices, improving usability and accessibility. Technologies such as VLibras translate content into Brazilian Sign Language (Libras), enhancing accessibility for the deaf. Therefore, considering the technologies and techniques presented here, an educational product that utilizes AT, responsive design, and web scraping can promote greater inclusion and enrich the education of deaf students. The overall objective of this work is to provide deaf students with an alternative means of accessing cartography content in the geography discipline through AT. The results demonstrated a high level of acceptance of the Fortaleza Libras platform, with an NPS of 100% and an average SUS usability score of 72, considered good. Additionally, the qualitative responses revealed teachers’ interest in using the platform in the classroom and indicated opportunities for improvement in the automatic content generation feature.
