Sinais-termo em libras: uma proposta terminológica para favorecer a apropriação de alguns conceitos da termodinâmica química

The terminological gap in Brazilian Sign Language (Libras) for scientific concepts can make it difficult for deaf students to learn, especially when dealing with abstract concepts such as those related to Chemical Thermodynamics. In this sense, the objective of this research is to propose, from discussions involving professionals from education, besides deaf and hearing students in the area, three term signs for this theme, namely: Thermodynamics, heat, and work. Thus, we seek to support the linguistic rights of these students. For the proposition and validation of these terminological signs, as well as the composition of their descriptive sheets, we used the methodology proposed by Nascimento (2016) in his doctoral thesis. Considering the terminologies in Libras as a fundamental aspect for the teaching and learning process of deaf students and recognizing the conceptual gain with the use of signs and term signs in detriment of typefaces, we emphasize that this research can contribute to the attenuation of this barrier linguistics, mainly in Chemistry classes. Finally, it is noteworthy that the proposed term signs, based on a conceptual basis, tend to generate greater significance and, in turn, understanding of the subject by deaf students.
