Proposta de diretrizes para a sistematização de conhecimento em Libras na Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte

Currently, numerous contents of information are being created and disseminated in the most diverse environments. Most of these materials are not accessible in Brazilian sign language (Libras), a phenomenon that is also noticeable at Universidade Federal do Rio Grande do Norte (UFRN). However, with the increase of deaf people entering into higher education at UFRN, several documents were translated and created to guarantee accessibility to the deaf community. As a result, various contents accessible in Libras were produced, which are available in different informational environments. Nevertheless, there is still a growing need for the creation of signal-terms in multiple scientific areas. Therefore, this present work aims to propose guidelines for the systematization and preservation of knowledge in Libras generated at UFRN. To achieve this objective, several specific goals were outlined, namely: analysis of the documents that regulate the translation and interpretation services in Libras at UFRN, mapping the various digital information environments that gather knowledge produced about Libras at UFRN, and analyzing the parameters of the sign creation process for the validation and registration of sign terms in the development guidelines of a glossary. Regarding the nature of the study, it is an applied research. To achieve this objective, the following methods were used: the monographic method, the functionalist method and the structuralist method. Also included are the techniques of documentary research and observation. As a result, three guidelines were presented: responding to requests according to the communicational and informational needs of the deaf community; optimize the organization of logistics related to the translation and interpretation processes; and implement actions to preserve and disseminate knowledge in Libras.
