O O SIGNWRITING (ESCRITA DE SINAIS) COMO PROPOSTA DE REGISTRO ESCRITO DO SINAL-NOME/PESSOA EM LIBRAS

The act of naming is very important. Even in different cultures and languages, people name people right after birth, giving them a character of identity. In the deaf community, in addition to the written name, the individual receives the sign-name, which is only given after a certain period of life, when it is possible to characterize it according to its physical, behavioral aspect, etc. However, this sign-name is often restricted to productions with movements typical of sign language. Little is used in spelling to register the signal. With this in mind, this study sought to verify if the writing of SignWriting signs can be used to register name signs in Brazilian Sign Language - Libras. For this, it used the data from the Libras inventory of Santa Catarina, Greater Florianopolis, Brazil with the analysis of the names of 34 deaf people.
