Lexicografia e língua de sinais: aspectos históricos, teóricos e analíticos em um dicionário ilustrado de Libras

In Brazil, LIBRAS is the legal resource of communication and expression to deaf community since 2002, thanks to their fights for recognition of that language. As a natural language, LIBRAS is constituted by smaller unities such as oral languages, but they are different because it is articulated with hands. We believe that peculiarity have influence on the way how LIBRAS is registered in dictionaries. For this reason, we intend to analyze the Dicionrio Ilustrado de LIBRAS, Lngua Brasileira de Sinais (DIL-LBS) (Illustrated Dictionary of LIBRAS, Brazilian Sign Language), by Flvia Brando (2011), from the postulates of Lexicography, which refers to the constituent aspects of a dictionary, and for this we use bibliographical research, which allows us to select texts from the area under study, to read them critically and to record them; and the lexicographic, which allows the perception of the constitution of the dictionary. This object of study was selected by one of the few lexicographic works of the Brazilian Sign Language. Finally, we concluded that dictionary uses a part of lexicographic principles to register LIBRAS, but it excludes the visual approaches that are necessary to understand the execution of lexical items of that language.
