A interlíngua Português-Libras na produção textual escrita de pessoas surdas adultas usuárias de Libras aprendizes do português escrito como segunda língua

This dissertation is the result of the research work developed on the Letters Post-Graduation Program of the Federal University of Pernambuco as a requirement for the achievement of the master’s degree. The research main goal is to analyze the interlanguage Portuguese-Libras on the textual production of adult deaf people that use Libras as reflected by the behavior of the verbs used. For that, we proceeded to the identification and classification of the verbs considering their uses as appropriate or inappropriate regarding the Portuguese grammar pattern. After that, we described the types of divergences that were observed on the uses of the inappropriate verbs. Then, in a qualitative analysis, we described the interlanguage features according to the three levels we could observe. The first level is characterized by the use of the infinitive form of the verbs, as well as the switch of the noun for the verb. In the second level we could classify de inappropriate uses of the verbs where there is the exchange of the verbal mode; orthography problems; the switch of a verbal nominal form for another; verbs used in non-required contexts; the switch of the verbal phrasing for the verb; semantics exchange; the switch of the flexed verb for the nominal form; the switch of grammatical part involving the verb; the exchange of the verbal function using the -se indetermination index of the subject; and the contraction of the verbal form. The third level shows the recurrent use of the verbal flexions of Portuguese, even though in an inconsistent way. The three levels revel the path taken by the deaf learners in which we can see progress in the process. Another data observed was that in 29% of the textual productions, we could observe more appropriate uses of the verbs than inappropriate ones, what can lead us to understand that the learning of written Portuguese by deaf people is possible and can show satisfactory results.
